This page exists for those who may wish to know a bit more about the Institutional Research staff at Porterville College.
Michael Carley has been Director of Institutional Research at Porterville
College since June 2000. Mike grew up in
Visalia CA, just 35 miles to the
northwest of Porterville. He attended
College of the Sequoias and
California State University, Fresno,
graduating in 1995 with a B.A. in sociology. Mike did his graduate work at
Stanford University, obtaining an M.A. in
sociology in 1996.
Prior to coming to Porterville College, Mike was a Research Associate at Sociometrics Corporation in Los Altos, CA. There he worked on research projects ranging from adolescent pregnancy and substance abuse prevention to child welfare projects.
